Don Pattinson was born in Abbeystead in the Trough of Bowland, and grew up in a farming family. After training at Blackburn Technical College and qualifying as a bricklayer, he worked with his brothers on extensions,  refurbishments and repairs. Don spent several years on site constructing houses, before starting his own business as a builder 20 years ago.
